Our leaders in South Asia have been serving with us since 2015 and are church planters. They also have established over 130 non-formal education centers that tutor the poorest of the poor that live on the streets. Once they get up to the standard of the local public schools, they can gain admission and help break the cycle of poverty. You will find the term “coaches” used to define the Sunday school teacher or tutor.
Testimonies from Leaders in South Asia
We often hear “We love the Prayer Covenant for children” because it is such a transferable concept–one can easily pass what they learned on to another in the same manner. Children often sharing what they learned with parents and other family members who are seeking to find the truth.
Our leader wrote, “In spite of 2020 being such a difficult year due to Covid-19, God protected each one of us and our families in our working places. It is very hard to bring children together in the coaching centers or non-formal education centers. Parents are worried about their children so in most of our places, coaches and volunteers are trying their level best to visit the families and meet children in their own homes. We have taken every effort to follow the government guidelines and take precautions if we gather, to maintain social distancing.
In one of our coaching centers in the village, around 12 children continued to meet for learning. As a result, other parents also were motivated to send their children to our center. D is a six-year-old girl who came–quite un-willingingly at first. Her parents had to force her. She was struggling to learn how to read but within a couple of months she showed tremendous improvement. She also learned how to respect her parents and elders through the teachings of the Prayer Covenant books for children. The parents are so happy to see the change in their children. And most often than not find Jesus through their testimony.
Our leaders have been asked by the government to minister to those suffering from covid – especially the migrant workers. Let us pray for them right now.
prayer
Father, you have come to set the oppressed free, to minister to the poor and sick. It is for these you have died. We lift them up to you Father. We ask that you come as their Comforter, Healer and Friend. We ask Jehovah Jireh to come as Provider of their every need. Thank you that you are the way, the truth and the life. We ask that those who they are ministering to will find salvation in your Son Jesus. In whose name we pray, Amen.
